Kirkland advised Southwest Airlines Co., one of the world's most admired and awarded airlines, on cooperation and information sharing agreements with Elliott Investment Management L.P. As part of the agreements, Elliott withdrew its request to call a special meeting of shareholders of Southwest Airlines, Southwest agreed to add new independent directors to its board and Elliott agreed to certain standstill, voting, confidentiality and other commitments.
